Successful Biggest Morning Tea Fundraiser

21st May 2024

Last week, the ADRA Op Shop welcomed nearly 100 attendees to a highly successful morning tea event in support of the Cancer Council.
On a sunny autumn day, participants gathered in the grounds of ADRA to indulge in delightful treats and steaming cups of tea and coffee, all in the spirit of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea (BMT).
This nationwide initiative sees communities across Australia coming together throughout the month of May to raise funds for cancer research and support services.
For a first-time endeavor, the response was overwhelming, with individuals from the local community rallying behind the cause.
In addition to enjoying a beautiful morning outdoors, participants contributed towards the Cancer Council, raising a commendable sum of $1000.
These funds will be channelled towards vital cancer research, aiding in the ongoing fight against this prevalent disease.
The success of this year’s event has laid a strong foundation for future editions of the Biggest Morning Tea in Guyra.
Helen Turnham, ADRA coordinator, expressed her optimism about making the BMT an annual tradition, stating, “We will go again next year.”
