Bald Blair Public School proudly celebrated Education Week with a vibrant Awards Assembly and the much-anticipated Spelling Bee Grand Finale, showcasing the remarkable achievements and talents of our students.
The Awards Assembly, held on Wednesday August 6th, recognised the hard work and dedication of the students. With parents, teachers, and students in attendance, the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and pride. This year’s Education Week theme of ‘Ignite your Potential’ emphasised the importance of education in shaping the future.
Student awards were presented for ‘Enthusiasm and Commitment to Education’. Award recipients were Ebonee Cruickshank for Kindergarten; Willow Milmoe for Stage One; Maeve Milmoe for Stage Two; and Ruby Little for Stage Three.
Special recognition was given to Mrs Aimee Lenehan, highlighting her extraordinary effort as a teacher and leader. Special recognition was also given to Mrs Emily Evans for her long-term role as a community member, supporting the P&C and coordinating many school functions.
Following the assembly, the grand finalists eagerly participated in the Annual Spelling Bee. Competition was fierce, with participants from all stages showcasing their spelling prowess.
Our Kindergarten champion was Ebonee Cruickshank, and the runner-up was Willow Thornton. In Stage One, our champion was Cooper Turnham and the runner-up was Willow Milmoe. The Spelling Bee not only promoted literacy and a love for language among students but also fostered a spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie.
Parents expressed their pride in their children’s achievements and their gratitude for the school’s efforts in promoting a culture of excellence.
As we reflect on this successful week, we are reminded of the importance of community, perseverance, and the joy of learning. We look forward to many more events that celebrate our students’ talents and achievements in the future.
