Local Students Celebrate Leadership at Annual Leader’s Lunch
Students from across the Snow Gums Learning Alliance and the Highlands Community of Schools came together on Monday to mark the annual Leader’s Lunch, a cherished event that has been a highlight on local school calendars for 15 years.
The special occasion brought together school leaders from Bald Blair, Ben Lomond, Black Mountain, Chandler, and Guyra, celebrating a year of dedication and leadership. Joining the students for lunch were Mr Ian Reeves and Mr Matt Hobbs, Directors of Educational Leadership for the Northern Tablelands and Armidale areas, who shared their insights.
Adding to the celebration, Mr Brendan Moylan, Member for the Northern Tablelands, addressed the students, providing his perspective on leadership and encouraging the students on their journeys.
Principals and teachers from each school accompanied the student leaders, offering support and engaging in meaningful conversations about leadership experiences and growth.
Bald Blair Public School Principal Ros Edwards said the Leader’s Lunch continues to be an inspiring yearly tradition that nurtures leadership skills and fosters community among young leaders in the region.
Guyra Central School Principal Tim Lloyd it was a fantastic opportunity to connect with student leaders from surrounding schools.
“A special thank you to Brendan Moylan for inviting us and sharing his insightful thoughts on leadership,” Mr Lloyd said. “His words inspired our students to embrace their roles with confidence and purpose.”
“Events like these are invaluable in helping our young leaders grow, collaborate, and make a positive impact in our community.”
