Favourite Shorts delights audiences at Ben Lomond

21st Apr 2026

“Favourite Shorts” has once again proven a hit at Ben Lomond, presented by the Ben Lomond Entertainment Society (BLES) in conjunction with the Armidale Drama and Musical Society on April 11th.
“Favourite Shorts” is a series of original short plays featuring local works with local players under local direction, thereby delivering a natural diversity of works to appeal to every taste.
The audience was treated to an entertaining mix of short plays, poems and monologues, performed as rehearsed readings from original scripts. Many in attendance found themselves relating to the situations portrayed, see themselves in some or other of the situations portrayed in all seriousness; in extreme hilarity or many stations in between.
A light supper was enjoyed during the interval, generously provided by members of the Ben Lomond Landcare Group. The short break offered a welcome chance for patrons to socialise and reflect on the performances.
BLES, a subcommittee of the Ben Lomond Landcare Group, expressed their appreciation to Armidale Regional Council for part-funding the event. Sincere thanks were also extended to the fifteen cast, crew and directors who travelled from Armidale to bring the production to life.
