Community groups share in $81,000 windfall

06th Oct 2026

Guyra community groups have received a significant boost, with more than $81,000 distributed through Regional Australia Bank’s Community Partnership Program (CPP).
The annual CPP event was held at the Guyra Bowling Club on Thursday, September 24th, with Regional Australia Bank Chief Product Officer Chris Stace addressing the gathering on the theme “The Good that Money Can Do.”
This year, $81,322.35 was returned to Guyra community organisations through the program, up from $69,054.07 in 2025.
The funding will support a range of local projects, events and services, helping community organisations continue their work across the Guyra district.
The evening highlighted the strength of local organisations, the generosity of Regional Australia Bank and the contribution of community groups that make a difference in the community every day.
The CPP allows Regional Australia Bank members to support causes that matter to them by using an eligible everyday account and nominating a registered community organisation as their recipient.
Regional Australia Bank then donates a percentage of profits, based on each member’s average annual account balance, to the community group of their choice.
For Guyra Can Assist, the funding is particularly meaningful. On behalf of Guyra Can Assist and its members, Leanne Burey expressed her gratitude to Regional Australia Bank for the continued support.
“The Regional Australia Banks Community Partnership Program is nothing short of amazing,” Leanne said following the presentations.
“What a wonderful thing that Regional Australia Bank do each and every year to benefit so many different community groups.
“As the recipients of such an incredible amount of money we could not be more thankful and each day I’m reminded how grateful we all should be.
“The wonderful thing about being in a small community is knowing there is always someone that will offer support.
“Can Assist is here to “Assist” anyone that has been impacted, struggling or needs help in anyway with the journey that they have to face. If you or you know someone who needs assistance please reach out.”
Anyone who needs assistance, or knows someone who may need support, can contact Guyra Can Assist on 0473 218 030 or email guyra@canassist.org.au.
“Life is short even if we have a long one,” Leanne added, while again thanking Regional Australia Bank for its contribution to the Guyra community.
