Community groups benefit

Community organisations receive RAB cheques
24th Aug 2022

Sporting clubs, environmental groups and health services were among organisations recognised and presented with cheques at special events across the state as part of Regional Australia Bank’s Community Partnership Program.
To mark off another successful year of the popular program, Regional Australia Bank held its Guyra event on Tuesday, 9th August, donating $46,894.75 directly to the local community.
Regional Australia Bank Chief Executive Officer, Dave Heine, said it has been wonderful to finally celebrate with these worthy organisations in person, with COVID forcing the cancellation of all events last year.
“It was such a shame to not get the opportunity to show our appreciation to each and every one of these organisations last year. It’s been even more special this year to give these groups the recognition they deserve and congratulate them in person,” he said.
“As a customer owned bank, we are really passionate about supporting our regional communities and we’re delighted to see the Community Partnership Program go from strength to strength.”
Now in its 14th year, the Community Partnership Program has donated over $2Million across regional Australia in the past 12 months, and assisted over 1600 community groups with much needed funds.
With COVID restrictions preventing many organisations from holding fundraising events over the last 12 months, initiatives like the CPP play a vital role in ensuring they can continue the important work that they do.
The Community Partnership Program allows Regional Australia Bank members to support their local community simply by transacting with a selected savings account and nominating their choice of organisation from the list. Regional Australia Bank then calculates the average annual balance and donates the equivalent of 0.75% to the chosen group.
“The great part about CPP is that we know we’re working with people who share the same ideals and values as us,” said Mr Heine.
“Supporting communities throughout regional Australia like we do is one of the great aspects of our partnership together.
“While we’re fortunate to have 1,600 registered organisations on our list, we’re always looking to add more. If you’d like to register, visit your local branch or call our Service Support Centre.”
