Are you ready to Frock Up?

Challenge to the Fellas
24th Oct 2023

Frocktober is Australia’s most fashionable month-long fundraiser, created by the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) to raise awareness and funds for vital ovarian cancer research.
All funds raised are donated directly to the OCRF, so they can fund potentially life-saving research ovarian cancer projects.
Guyra CWA Evening Branch are calling on guys and gals to join them this Saturday October 28th in support of this great cause. Jumping on the “Frocktober” bandwagon the event calls for everyone, blokes especially, to “frock” up.
Organise Sarah Gwilym planned the event after attending the CWA Spring Fling and listening to Catherine Stephen, ambassador for Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.
“I realised that not only were the symptoms for Ovarian cancer so similar to common monthly women problems, also that it was a cancer not often spoke about,” Sarah said.
“I decided that a fun night at the local pub where everyone could frock up would be a good way to change that narrative.
“Ladies, why not checkout the op shops, or pull an old number out of the cupboard, get silly with your frocks.
“There will be prizes for best frocked fella (c’mon fellas you can do it!) and best frocked female as well as a lucky door prize and raffles on the night.
“The aim of the night is to get together with your friends, frock up, have a laugh, raise some money for the OCRF and potentially win a prize or 2!”
If you would like to donate a raffle prize or have any queries, please contact Sarah on 0435 114 121.
The night kicks off from 6.30pm onwards with raffles and the main event starts at 7.30pm. If you wish to have dinner at the Royal Hotel booking a table is highly recommended – phone 6779 1005 to book.
