Eight candidates on ballot box for New England

Eight candidates will be running for the seat of New England when voters go to the ballot box next month. The ballot draw for the election was conducted in Armidale on Friday.
Pavlo Samios from Inverell, who is a candidate for the Liberal Democrats, will appear at the top of the ballot paper, followed by Cindy Duncan who is running for the United Australia Party. At number three is Natasha Ledger from Uralla, followed by incumbent Barnaby Joyce in fourth position.
Independent Matt Sharpham from Tamworth drew the fifth position on the ballot paper and at number six is a One Nation candidate Richard Thomas.
The final two on the ballot paper are former Glen Innes mayor Carol Sparks, running for The Greens, and the Labor candidate Laura Hughes from Tamworth.
The election will be held on Saturday, May 21.
