Education Week Activities

10th Aug 2021

On Friday, 30th July 2021 Black Mountain Public School celebrated Education Week a range of cultural activities on offer. We started the day by presenting our Education Week Awards.
The students participated in music activities with Ms Eliza Scott from the New England Conservatorium of Music. She played her violin to the K-2 students and they danced to different tempo and rhythm styles. The 3-6 senior students participated in rhythmic dance and actions to instruction and sight cards.
The students then displayed their creative art flair by creating very colourful murals which will be displayed at our school. A big thank you to our school leaders who helped organise and serve the sausage sizzle for lunch and watermelon and lamingtons for dessert. The day ended with fun, sporting activities such as the highly competitive egg and spoon relay races and duck- duck goose!
There was an outstanding response to the P & C’s first fundraising event for the year.
Thank you everyone who helped by chopping wood, donating prizes and selling tickets. This was greatly appreciated, and it is amazing to see how a small school community can work together to support our school.
The results from the raffle were: 1st Prize Load of Wood David Watts, 2nd Prize Handmade Stock Whip David Jimmy Tema, 3rd Prize $50 Voucher Black Mountain Nursery, Biankia Jones 4th Prize $25 Meal Voucher Black Mountain Roadhouse Dustin Turnham
Congratulations to all the winners and thank you for supporting our P&C Fundraiser.
