What we do at The Hub

The Hub at Guyra is a community based Advocacy & Support, and an Information & Referral service. They provide support to anyone that has a need in the community to access services and support and can refer on to other services if need be.
When you walk through the door, you can expect respect, confidentiality, dignity and help to find your solutions to the questions and or concerns you have.
• Housing with local real estates and Homes North, plus emergency advocacy with Link2Home.
• Transport through HACC and or support if needed to access service.
• Financial support either emergency support and or referral to local supports such as Vinnie’s and or ADRA
• Support to talk with providers of overdue bills, electricity or gas and go on line to query or set up better payment options or plans.
• Personal assistance can be provided, with forms and access to government services such as Centrelink, Medicare and Service NSW.
• Support to access services such as My Aged Care; set up a plan, update your plan and or find providers of services you may already have in your plan.
• Provide a safe and supportive space for you to meet, have a cuppa, catch up, have appointments, and also come to required appointments such as Employment Services.
• We have a number of Services outreaching in our community from Armidale, Tamworth or further afield, with more services enquiring about room hire and the support they can provide to our community each week.
• Disability services and NDIS providers
• New England North West Legal.
• Employment Services, for jobseekers, disability, parents and youth
• Reconnect and Youth Services to provide youth activities
• Corrections for meetings to do with parole etc.
• Health and wellbeing – massage therapy etc.
• TFSS and GFSS - Family Support Service to support families with young children
We expect to have the Community Garden up and functional by the end of 2021. This too will be a safe and comfortable place for people to “grow stuff and pick stuff”, to meet with others and to be supported by The Hub at Guyra.
In time we will be looking for Volunteers to provide that support and comfort, to help the youth and or others that may just need an outside space to sit for a while and enjoy our beautiful garden!!.
We are always looking for membership to the Hub at Guyra, this provides you with enjoyable meetings and getting to know exactly what we do in our community.
