Guyra Polocrosse Club player Alby McKemey competed in youth polocrosse at Sydney Royal Easter Show last weekend with great success. Eleven-year-old Alby is a regular competitor for Guyra, and was chosen to play in the sub junior competition for 12 years and under. His teammates came from throughout NSW.
Alby's team, sponsored by the Australian Stock Horse Society, won the competition. Alby and his horse Roulette were also awarded best number 3.
It was Alby’s first time at the Royal Easter Show. The competition was played on a sand arena which he had not experienced before, however he adapted well despite being nervous beforehand.
Along with his family, he enjoyed three full days at the Show and they particularly enjoyed tasting the scones prepared by the CWA and taking a ride on the roller coaster.
Also representing Guyra was Brooke Grills who competed in the State finals for sheep and wool judging. at the Sydney Royal Show finishing 5th
