Rug up for ‘Thriftmas in July’ Weekend

30th Jun 2026

Spread the word - residents and visitors are invited to rug up and join in the festivities as Guyra hosts its inaugural Thriftmas in July on the11th and 12th July, 2026.
Organised by the Guyra and Community Progress Association (G&CPA), the community-wide event will feature local garage sales, thrifty markets, community service activities and the popular Hot Chocolate Trail, offering something for all ages across the weekend.
Other highlights include a free First Aid and CPR training morning hosted by the Guyra VRA, a free “Welcome to Guyra” sausage sizzle presented by the Guyra and Community Progress Association, a mini book fair,  and a range of activities organised by local community groups.
G&CPA President Sonya Wallbridge said the event celebrates community spirit, sustainability and supporting local organisations, with residents, businesses and volunteers from Guyra and surrounding villages coming together to create a truly town-wide celebration.
“It’s about showcasing everything that makes our community special - working together, reusing and recycling, supporting local groups, and welcoming new and existing residents and visitors to Guyra,” Sonya said.
“The Association encourages everyone to don their winter woollies, explore the full programme, and enjoy a weekend of bargains, and great company.”
