The Parents and Friends (P&F) group of St Mary of the Angels School hosted a popular BBQ at the Show and Shine on January 24th. Held in conjunction with the Lamb and Potato Festival, the Show and Shine attracted a strong crowd of locals and visitors, many of whom stopped by to enjoy the P&F’s delicious breakfast and lunch offerings.
For the third year in a row, parent volunteers organised and ran the BBQ, raising valuable funds in support of the school.
The day began with a steady demand for bacon and egg rolls, giving early arrivals the perfect start before admiring the wide range of vehicles on display. As the day progressed, steak and sausage sandwiches proved just as popular, with some guests even returning for seconds.
All food was prepared using locally sourced meat and bread, reinforcing the strong connection between the school, local producers, and the wider Guyra community.
The success of the BBQ once again highlighted the benefits of community groups working together to support local events, schools, and fundraising efforts.
