New chapter for Guyra hardware

A new era has begun at Home Hardware in Guyra with Tanya and Brett Bishop officially taking over as owners on December 6th, trading as Bishop’s Hardware and Building Supplies.
The transition has been six months in the making, allowing Tanya and Brett to get to know the business under the guidance of long-time owners Tania and Darren ‘Dasha’ Lennon. This has meant that the changeover has been smooth, and customers are already well acquainted with the new owners.
Tanya and Brett moved to Guyra in 2023 with their daughters, Edith and Olive. Tanya was born in Inverell and returning to the area felt like a natural fit, offering both familiarity and family connections.
Brett brings with him 19 years of service in the Royal Australian Navy.
He made the decision to discharge from the Navy to take on the running of the local hardware store and to be home with his family full-time.
“Since moving to Guyra, we’ve really appreciated the acceptance and support of the local community,” Tanya and Brett said.
“We can see strong potential for growth and development within the town, and we’re excited to be part of that future.”
Familiar faces will remain at the counter, with Tania and Dasha continuing in their roles at Bishop’s Hardware to ensure continuity for customers.
