Home Arts Day

Black Mountain Public School at NERAM
24th Aug 2022

The students at Black Mountain Public School attended a Home Arts Cluster Day on Wednesday, 17th August 2022. This was a fabulous collaboration between the New England Conservatorium of Music, the New England Regional Art Museum and the Aboriginal Cultural Centre & Keeping Place.
The students travelled by bus and started the day at NECOM with a recital of songs with the New England Sings group. Congratulations Latai ‘Ale on being chosen as a role model to be on stage with the microphone to sing. This was followed by a sing-off which our school proudly won.
Lunch was generously provided and was enjoyed on the grounds of the Aboriginal Cultural Centre and Keeping Place.
In the afternoon, the groups viewed the many artifacts at the Aboriginal Cultural Centre and Keeping Place, enjoyed Aboriginal games and listened to an Elder play the Didgeridoo. They were then taken to the New England Regional Art Museum to view various forms of art. They returned to school with their own design drawing/collage of an Australian landscape.
