Guyra exhibitors shine in fleece competition at Sydney Royal

Guyra and district woolgrowers have delivering outstanding results across multiple classes in the 2026 Sheep Fleece competition, held at the Sydney Royal Easter Show
Moray Pastoral Co secured first first place in multiple ultrafine, superfine and fine categories.
Their consistency across the board saw them awarded Most Successful Exhibitor in the Unhoused and Unrugged Merino Fleece Classes, along with the Cliff Friend Perpetual Award.
Further recognition came with the major honour of Most Successful Merino Fleece Exhibitor, receiving the Thomas Farquhar Hodgson Memorial Perpetual Trophy.
Tangley Grazing Co, Guyra, also recorded strong results, winning both Fine Merino ewe or wether classes and secured first place representing Guyra Show Society in the Country Show Champions Class.
In the District Exhibits section, John and Diana Presnell of Ben Lomond claimed the Ultrafine class and went on to be awarded Champion District Fleece.
Fellow Ben Lomond exhibitor Sam McLeod won the Fine Crossbred class. Guyra was again represented on the winners list with Thor Burey taking out first place in the Fine fleece class.
