Fabulous day at January produce swap

23rd Jan 2024

Another fabulous day was had by many at the January Produce Swap held in the Guyra Neighbourhood Centre Community Garden last Saturday. The Produce Swap is held on the first Saturday of every month.
This month we had several people who had things to swap including veggies, eggs, dried fruit pouches, home baked focaccia, lavender bags and gifts, plants, worm tea, pony poo and more.
We had lots of people who came for a look a cuppa or to buy the many things on offer. These included local Guyra people, people from surrounding towns including Glencoe and some travelers, who all spoke about being pleasantly surprised at the event.
As always, the Neighbourhood Centre team ensured there were refreshments available, along with the produce gathered or made from the community garden.
The produce swap aims to give people the opportunity to come together and buy or swap fresh local veggies, plants and other produce.
The swap also aims to support local enterprise, ensure local people who make or gather produce have an opportunity to show their wares, and build possibilities for a small income.
The next Produce Swap is on February 3rd, and we look forward to an ever-increasing number of people with things to swap, sell or visit.
There is no cost to those wanting to set up a swap table or bring items to swap so come and join the fun in February.
