Covid-19 testing now available Guyra

10th Aug 2021

In order to ease pressure and reduce waiting times at COVID-19 testing clinics in Armidale, screening is now available at the Guyra Multi-Purpose Service (MPS). Testing facilities have also been made available in Uralla.
Following the announcement of the Armidale Regional LGA lockdown on Saturday well over 1,000 residents were tested across the city’s three clinics each day.
Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall said that the trade-off for that huge volume of people has been extensive waiting times.
In order to reduce the number of people travelling to Armidale for testing, Guyra residents can now be tested at the new MPS drive-through service, which is open from Monday to Friday 8.30am to 11.30am. You need to book an appointment by calling 6738 4000.
“Waiting is inconvenient but necessary if we are to successfully identify and monitor any new infections,” Mr Marshall said.
“Due to the number of tests being done across the State, it can take up to 48 hours for results to come back. In that time, those who have been tested should be adhering to the stay-at-home-order,” Mr Marshall said.
“A big thank you to everyone in the region, you are all doing an amazing job adhering to the lockdown requirements.
“I know this is difficult and frustrating, but if we all do our part, we can come out of this next weekend.”
