Two serious crashes in two days test emergency services

Emergency services responded to two serious road incidents in the region last week, including a fatal two-vehicle crash at Guyra and a coach accident south of Glen Innes.
A 75-year-old man died following a collision between a white Toyota Hilux and a black Subaru Impreza on Guyra Road, Guyra, at about 3.30pm on Thursday, September 24th.
The Toyota driver died before emergency services arrived. The 30-year-old male driver of the Subaru was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital, while a five-year-old girl travelling in the vehicle was taken by road to Armidale Hospital.
Both were reported to be in a serious but stable condition.
Officers from the New England Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
On Friday night, September 25th, emergency services were also called to a serious incident involving a NSW TrainLink coach about two kilometres south of Glen Innes.
The coach was travelling from Armidale to Tenterfield with 20 passengers on board when it left the highway at about 7.30pm.
A woman was airlifted to hospital with a suspected broken leg, while the driver and several passengers were also taken to hospital.
VRA Rescue NSW crews from Glen Innes and Guyra attended the scene. Fire and Rescue NSW crews and ambulance crews also attended as well as the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
Investigations into both incidents are continuing.
