Guyra Home Support Services (HSS) hosted a fun filled event for seniors at the Guyra Bowling Club on May 16th.
The Seniors High Tea Autumn Ball attracted around 90 people who shared some great food, social interaction, and entertainment.
The day was organized by HSS staff Toni Kirkman and Rebecca Broughton. Rebecca said that the event had been months in the planning and they were pleased with the support they received from the community.
“It was the first big event that HSS have organized since COVID,” Rebecca said.
“It was really a group effort and it became a project which our Nicholli and craft group worked on over recent months.”
“They made all of the decorations and bunting which really brightened up the hall and made the day extra special.”
“Entertainment for the event was provided by Cyril Green and family and it was great to see people up on the dance floor.”
Local schools also supported the event with performances and assisting with the service of food. The King and Queen of the Ball titles were awarded to Paul Kliendienst and Jessie Landsborough
Special thanks to Debbie and Mary for helping with the decorations, Donna for food and the Bowling Club for the venue.
