Poets on the Mountain Festival

The Australian Poetry Hall of Fame (APHOF) in Guyra will be hosting the ‘Poets on the Mountain Festival’ from November 12th to 19th.
Festival spokesperson Thundercloud said that this festival not only celebrates the Australian bush poetry tradition but also offers a platform for talented poets to showcase their skills and creativity.
“The Poets on the Mountain Festival will be a unique opportunity for poetry enthusiasts and Aussie culture lovers to come together in a magnificent setting, creating memories that will last a lifetime,” Thundercloud said.
The festival’s schedule includes the Australian Bush Poetry Film Festival and Poetry Workshops hosted by accomplished poets.
The APHOF will be hosting a series of events, workshops, and performances, celebrating the art of bush poetry, while bringing together poets and enthusiasts to share stories, engage in interactive sessions, and enjoy the camaraderie that this poetic community fosters.”
During the festival the ABPA NSW Bush Poetry Championship will also take place on November 18th and 19th.
This prestigious competition will see the finest bush poets from across New South Wales compete for the title of NSW Bush Poetry Champion. The championship will include captivating recitations of original and traditional bush poetry, highlighting the depth of talent within this art form. The Rhymers Variety Show on November 18th promises to be a night of unmatched entertainment. Featuring the brilliant talents of Ray Essery, Bill Kearns, and Robyn Sykes, this one-night-only variety show will be a highlight of the festival.
The audience can expect an enchanting evening of entertaining rhymes, laughter, and thought-provoking poetry. Hosted by Musical duet Tom McIlveen and Susan Ashton of ‘Spiral Time’. If you enjoy poetry, rhymes and “tall” stories, this Rhymers Variety Show may be just for you.
Special guests include the hilarious, legendary ‘Mullumbimby Bloke’, Ray Essery, the ‘Master of Bull’ himself, the always witty, incomparable Bill Kearns and the nationally and internationally acclaimed “Sculptor of Words” Robyn Sykes. Al three have performed at festivals throughout Australia for many years and are always in high demand with audiences of all genres and Thundercloud is excited to showcase all three performers in Guyra.
