A School Holiday Program Jungle Style

23rd Jun 2026

An “Amazon Expedition” is coming to Guyra this July, and local children are invited to gather their gear, lace up their boots, and join the ultimate trek through time in a jungle adventure packed with fun, friendship, and discovery.
The Amazon Expedition Kids Club will run from July 13th to 18th at Guyra SDA Church, offering children aged 5–11 a free week of action songs, drama, games, puppet shows, craft activities, stories, morning tea, and exciting jungle-themed adventures.
“Imagine a kids’ program that combines music, games, craft, drama, and interactive activities while exploring the historical journey of the Bible - from creation and dinosaurs to Noah’s flood and beyond,” said Tammy Reeves, one of the program organisers.
“It’s designed to be energetic, welcoming, and a place where kids can laugh, learn, and make wonderful memories during the school holidays.”
Running daily from 9am–12 noon, the school holiday kids club will take children on the “Ultimate Trek Through Time” as they discover the “Seven C’s of History” through hands-on activities and engaging presentations tailored for different age groups.
Organisers say each day of the expedition will feature themed activities and adventures, with children enjoying age-appropriate games, learning experiences, and supervision in a safe and friendly environment.
“School holidays can sometimes leave kids looking for something exciting to do, especially as they start missing their school friends,” Tammy said.
“Amazon Expedition gives children the chance to reconnect with friends, make new ones, and enjoy a positive atmosphere filled with creativity, adventure, and encouragement.”
The week-long program aims to create an experience children will not forget in a hurry, with plenty of opportunities for teamwork, imagination, music, movement, and fun.
The program is open to all families in the community, however places may be limited.
“We’d encourage families to register their little explorers early so they don’t miss out on the adventure,” Tammy said.
