Mixed emotions as doors to close on local café

It is with mixed emotions that we share the news that the Guyra Café will be closing its doors on Friday, July 24th, 2026.
This has been an incredibly difficult decision for our family, but one that we believe is the right step for us at this time. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all of our loyal customers and the wider Guyra community for your support over the past eight years.
We simply could not have done it without you, and we are truly thankful for every coffee shared, every meal served, and every conversation had along the way.
A special thank you goes to Ben and Ash for giving us the opportunity to run such a wonderful small business. It has been a privilege and an experience we will always cherish.
To all of our staff, past and present, thank you. We have made lifelong friendships, created countless memories, and built what we believe has been one of the best workplaces to be part of. Your hard work, dedication and support have meant everything.
And to my one and only, Vick, who has stood beside me from the very first day to the very last — thank you. Your loyalty, commitment, friendship, dedication and willingness to treat this business as if it were your own can never be repaid. Quite simply, without you, none of this would have been possible.
Closing this chapter is incredibly emotional. While it is a huge door to close, we hope it may lead to an even bigger one opening in the future. We also hope to see someone take on the opportunity of reopening the café and continuing its place at the heart of the Guyra community. Perhaps this could be your next adventure.
